Instructions

  1. Prepare the Aromatics

    • Finely chop the onions and thinly slice the garlic.
    • Heat butter and olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
    • Add onions with a pinch of salt and sauté for about 10 minutes until softened and translucent.
  2. Cook the Garlic

    • Add sliced garlic to the onions and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
    • Season with freshly ground black pepper.
  3. Build the Soup Base
