  7. Combine Pasta and Sauce

    3 min hands-on

    • Add the cooked pasta to the pan with the broccoli mixture.
    • Pour in a small amount of reserved pasta cooking water and stir vigorously.
    • Continue stirring and cooking for 2-3 minutes until the pasta is fully coated and the sauce is creamy.
  8. Incorporate the Parmesan

    1 min hands-on

    • Remove the pan from heat and stir in most of the grated parmesan cheese.
    • Mix until the cheese melts and combines with the sauce.
    • Adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper to taste.
  9. Plate and Garnish

    2 min hands-on

    • Divide the pasta among serving plates.
    • Sprinkle each portion with the remaining grated parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.
    • Add freshly ground black pepper or additional chile slices for extra spice.
    • Cooking tips:
    • For a nuttier depth of flavor, lightly toast the minced broccoli in a dry pan for 1-2 minutes before adding it to the oil.
    • If you prefer a crunchier texture, reserve some broccoli chunks and fold them in during the final minute of cooking.
    • Make sure to use high-quality parmesan cheese for the best umami flavor. A microplane grater works best to achieve a fine, fluffy texture.
    • Always reserve pasta water before draining—it's key to achieving a silky sauce!
