Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients

    • Slice the chorizo into bite-sized pieces.
    • Peel and clean the shrimp if needed.
    • Mince the garlic and chop the fresh basil, reserving whole leaves for garnish.

    • Add reserved pasta water if needed for consistency.
  8. Finish and Garnish

    • Divide pasta into plates and garnish with whole basil leaves.
    • Cooking tips:
    • For a deeper flavor, allow the sauce to simmer longer—up to 20 minutes.
    • Toast the cayenne briefly in the pan before adding the shrimp to enhance its smoky flavor.
    • If you prefer a less spicy dish, reduce the amount of cayenne and add more fresh basil.
    • Use tongs to toss the pasta with the sauce for even coating.
