Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pasta Base

    • Add salt and cook the whole-grain spaghetti until al dente, typically 8–12 minutes.
    • Reserve some starchy pasta water before draining.
  2. Sauté the Kale

    • Chop into bite-sized pieces.
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Add kale and sauté until wilted, about 4–6 minutes.
  3. Build the Flavor Base

    • Sprinkle in red pepper flakes, capers, and a pinch of salt.
    • Drizzle in more olive oil and cook on medium-low heat for 2–3 minutes.

    • Stir to combine and simmer for 2–3 minutes to create a light sauce.
  5. Combine Pasta and Sauce
