Wash the Lentils

- Massage with fingers to release surface starch.
- Drain and repeat until water runs almost clear.
- Drain thoroughly using a sieve.

Cook the Lentils

- Add water in a 2:1 ratio with lentils.
- Stir in sliced ginger, turmeric, and a pinch of salt.
